FQ: What's on your Christmas list?
Honestly, I'm perfectly fine with the idea of not getting anything. Don't take this the wrong way, but I feel especially bad for all of my non-Christian friends and family. I hate seeing so many non-believers get so worked up this time of year over a holiday they don't even celebrate outside of the massive gift exchange.
I know that I add to the stress doubly as a Christmas Eve baby. A lot of people don't want to offend by only getting me a birthday present. I used to make a big deal over that in the past and I'm sorry if my whining and crying added unnecessary stress to an already chaotic season. I still think it's tactless when people make it clear that they're using me as a way to "cut corners", but I'm through with making a scene over something that has nothing to do with why we celebrate. If you don't celebrate Christmas, don't feel like you have to give me two gifts. If you do celebrate Christmas, pray on it and spend your money in a way that you feel is most true to the season. Savvy?
For those of you who still want to give me something, I'm getting addicted to Scrubs and only own Season 1. I set up a wish list at Target for Seasons 2-7. It's the easiest way to make sure there are no repeats and everybody and their grandma shops there.
If memory serves me correctly, the cheapest set was like $23 and the most expensive was about $36. If that's out of your range and you still want to give me a present, I trust your judgment and I'll be perfectly happy if you donate to charity in my name. Seriously.
As for me, I'm going to keep it pretty low-key this year because I'm back to working for minimum wage for the first time since my first job at Red Robin. I'm tentatively thinking that I'll bake a sugary treat of some sort in a Costco-worthy amount and distribute the goods evenly among all of my friends.
Maybe I'll shop for immediate family or something. Something for me to pray on...
I just answered this Featured Question; you can answer it too!

Yeah, I totally get the "working for minimum wage" feeling. It fucking sucks. *le sigh* But hey, it's a job, right? :)
I've thought up some creative gifts I could make at a relatively low cost... I might look into some of those ideas. Even though I don't do x-mas, I still like the gift-giving idea. So I just do Winter Solstice! :)
